Movie Star News



Everyone's favorite mom and top movie star Angelina Jolie has checked herself into a hospital in France. She and hubby Brad are awaiting the birth of their twins, the Associated Press reports. The couple's publicist said in a statement that the star's admittance into the hospital was planned for a long time. Stay tuned for more as this story changes.

Brad and Angelina finally had their twins!! On July 12, the happy couple celebrated the birth of their twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon ( a girl and a boy).  You all know that the gossip magazines are all foaming at the mouth for a chance at exclusive photos of these future child movie stars/heart breakers. I will be sure to add pictures of the kids when they become available.

In other baby news, Pro skater Tony Hawk and his wife had a baby girl on Monday. This is the first child for Lhotse but the fourth for Hawk who has three sons from a previous relationship.

It's almost a go. Perez Hilton is reporting that Shannen Doherty is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming 90210 t.v show. It will be very interesting to see if she does join. Can we say DRAMA!!

Rapper Kanye West has confirmed that he and designer Louis Vuitton will be doing a shoe line together. Kanye does have an interesting sense of style, I can't wait to see what his footwear will look like.

Who's the latest Hollywood actress to have a baby? It's Soleil Moon-Frye! People Magazine is reporting that the former child star and her husband Jason Goldberg, welcomed Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg into their lives. Um, just so y'all know, it's a baby girl! I'm thinking they went a little overboard with the name.

In other baby news, actress Minnie Driver has recently announced her pregnancy.  What in the world is in the water in Hollywood? Note to self, when visiting Hollywood, never, ever drink the water! Anyway, the famous movie star announced her pregnancy on the Tonight Show last Thursday.

Finally some Britney news y'all. Yay!..Well the former crazy lady is doing great these days, so much so that on Monday a judge decided to grant her access to a credit card that has a $1500 a week limit so she can buy whatever she wants. Um crazy or not, how much do you want to be Britney right now?? I'd love to have a credit card with a $1500 a week limit on it!



I'm sure everyone has heard of Joe Francis right? You haven't? O.k what about Girls Gone Wild? Ah, there you go! Well Mr. Girls Gone Wild was released from a Las Vegas Jail on Monday. He's currently on his way back to Florida to face more criminal charges, for a charge of filming underage girls in that state. Sucks to be him!



Another Celebrity break down...So This past weekend the breaking entertainment news du jour was that Heather Locklear tried to commit suicide. Here's the deal, Heather's shrink spoke to her on Saturday and she sounded all depressed. The shrink freaked out and thought that she might overdose on her meds so she decided to call 911. The call was listed as a "suicide attempt," but when the paramedics arrived Heather was fine....False Alarm!

So MTV is going to have a new reality show called Rock the Cradle. It's basically another American Idol type show.  Instead of having regular folks like ourselves battle it out for the top spot, get this, they are having the children of celebrities such as Bobby Brown, Olivia Newton-John, and MC Hammer compete against each other to see who's the best singer. This is going to be hilarious!

And speaking of hilarious, Brooke Hogan is going to have her own t.v show...enough said.

There's some baby rumors going around...the New York Post's Page Six is reporting that Kimora Lee Simmons and boyfriend, actor Djimon Hounsou are expecting a baby. This would make baby number three for Kimora.

TMZ is reporting that rapper Juvenile's four year old daughter Jelani was murdered last Friday! Georgia law enforcement charged 17-year old boy Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr  with the murder of his mother and two sisters (one of which was the daughter of the rapper). Tyrrell's mother was a local sheriff's deputy...How sad!

The awards were upon us this weekend, and many top movie stars came out to shine!



The Independent Spirit Awards were this past Saturday and many of our favorites showed up. Yes Brad and Angelina were there too! And they brought with them quite a package (see photo!) So the rumors are true..this will make what, baby number 1,156? (just kidding). Besides Brad and Angie, some other celebrities that showed up included Kate Beckinsale, Ellen Page, Kerri Russell, Sienna Miller, and fresh outta rehab, Eva Mendez.  Ellen Page and Javier Bardem decided to make a  fashion statement by dressing like twins (I'm sure they didn't mean to dress alike).

The Oscars where also this past weekend and boy did the stars come out to shine! Of course the men wore their usual black tuxes, but for the women, red seemed to be the color or the night. With Catherine Heigel, Heidi Klum, and teen sensation Miley Cyrus all wearing this bold color. Other than red being a big color this year, Oscar served up some hits and misses with some movie star dresses. Here are just a few, which do you think is a hit or miss?

Miley Cyrus wore a red Valentio chiffon gown, and Heidi Klum looked stunning in a red silk taffeta gown by John Galliano..

Jessica Alba wore a plum colored strapless Marchesa gown and Javier Bardem looked a lot better than her did at The Spirit Awards on Saturday, wearing a Navy four-button tux by Prada.




Penelope Cruise (Chanel Couture) and Nicole Kidman (Balenciaga) chose to wear black instead of the popular red that was seen on other celebrities.

J to the L-O has finally had her twins!! YAY! The Latina pop star and her husband Marc Anthony, welcomed their twins this morning at 12:12 a.m in a Long Island hospital. They were lucky enough to have a boy (5lbs 7ozs) and a girl (6lbs). Her manager released this statement to people magazine, "Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon."  Good for them! Next up Halle Berry.

Aaron Carter (little brother of Nick Carter) is the latest young celebrity to be busted for drugs on Thursday. Aaron currently sits in a Texas jail waiting to see the magistrate judge Friday morning. So what happened? Well basically the 20 year old was pulled over for speeding, and yup he was busted for having 2ozs of Mary Jane on him. In the words of Flavor Flav..."WAOOOOW!"



Angelina and Brad  finally finalized their adoption of Pax on Wednesday! Everything is now right with the world! O.K honestly, how much do you guys really care about knowing about every little thing that Brad and Angelina do? I mean it's a little annoying in my opinion. Oh and do you guys ever wonder what's up with Shiolh? I mean the very famous couple were photographed having a great family vacation at Mammoth Mountain ski resort the other day, but um...Shiloh wasn't there? What's up with that?

Lil Kim is not the only one to recently get some work done. High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is the latest Hollywood actress to get her nose done (she looks totally different). She claimed that she was unable to breathe (Uh yea right!) As you may remember, Ashlee Simpson also had that problem..I see a trend...

New Celebrity Hairstyles



Rihanna came out looking good last week debuting a brand new short hairstyle. It looks super cute. Following suit was Rod Stewart's daughter, Kimberly. Other changes in hairstyles were Amy Winehouse, who went from big black beehive to blonde, then back to big black beehive. Also, Ashlee Simpson went from blonde to red ( it actually looks good on her).

Here's a tip, instead of going all out (Lil Kim) why not just start with a new haircut or color? Just an idea!

As we know, the Screen Actors Guild Awards were this past Sunday and many of our top rated celebrities where there. So what were they wearing? Who had the hits and who was a miss? What's the newest trend in the world of celebrity hair and make-up? Well I'm here to answer all of your burning questions.

Best Dressed


This year the stars made a good impression with their fashion. Case in point,  T.V actress America Ferrera, who chose to show off her curves in a grey number by Monique Lhuillier. Angelina Jolie also looked great in a flowing patterned Hermes gown, that was simple. I'm not gonna lie, it did look a little tentish, but it was cute! (hiding something Angie?). Her date was this guy named Brad Pitt, who looked good in an all black suit with no tie. Christana Applegate sparkled in a georgeous  Elie Saab dress. Eva Longoria wore a white gown designed by Naeem Khan that plunged in the back...Fabulousness!

When you see what an actor or actress wears to an award, don't you just think to yourself that they need to fire who ever they are paying to dress them. Well that's what I thought when I saw a couple of these dresses.  Sandra  Oh (more like Sandra oh no!).   What  was she thinking  when  she wore a black and pink number with a huge bow..she decided to dress up like a half wrapped Christmas present that some one was trying to give back.  January Jones looked a hot mess in a hot pink gown designed by Armani. Tilda Swinton (the chick from The Chronicles of Narnia) in my opinion, looked like a spoon! She wore a pewter dress with a matching tuxedo jacket..WHAT?  You can see the rest of the mess here. I just can't go on with the madness. These people make way too much money to have a horrible fashion sense! Use your money for good people, for good fashion!!!!

Hair and Make-Up


It seemed that the "less is more" concept was the trend of the night. Hollywood actresses showed off a more natural look with light pink lips. They made up  their eyes with subtle colors. Hairstyles were also soft and elegant. Many sported pinned up hair styles. Eva Longoria, again sported this style, with a deep side part and curled locks. Young stars such as Amanda Bynes and Ashley Tisdale sported longer hair, but with loose curls. In short big night, great hair, great make-up.

The SAG Awards was a night of hits and misses as with any award show, can't wait to see what the Oscars have in store!

As you know the 2008 Sundance Film Festival begins today and ChaCha will be the "Official Text Answer Service". The festival lineup has been announced, and 121 feature length films were selected out of the 3,624 that were submitted.  On-top of the fresh new faces that will be staring in the new movies, there are a lot of top celebrities who will be appearing in many of these movies as well.  We can expect to see a great number of stars gracing the festival this year. There will be many new actors and actresses who will be getting recognition for their roles in certain films this year.

What Celebrities will we see?



The first film set to open up the festival is  "In Bruges" starring Colin Ferrell and Ralph Finnes.  It is not even out yet and it is already generating tons of Hollywood buzz.  The first screening will be at 6:00p.m at the Eccles Theater.  Other films set to premiere that have some famous movie stars are:

•  "The Wackness" starring Mary Kate Olsen, Famke Janssen, Method Man and Ben Kingsley.

• "Be Kind Rewind" starring Jack Black, Mos Def and Danny Glover.

• "Bottle Shock" starring Bill Pullman, Eliza Dusku and Freddy Rodriguez.

That is just a start, other stars appearing in films include Winona Ryder, Sienna Miller, Felicity Huffman and Ray Romano to name a few more.

What should we expect at the Festival:

There will be major glitz and glamor, and plenty of parties. I will be keeping you guys updated on everything. What party's were the hottest, the latest hairstyles and fashion, Hollywood couples, and definitely photos and entertainment news coverage of all the events.  Where ever there's gossip your girl will be on it!

Woooo!  First off let me just say, Britney is not on the list here's what he says: “I felt that it was inappropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval, I hope 2008 is a better year for her.” Aww at least someone out there cares.  Anywho, so who did make it on the list you ask?
Well Fashionista Posh Spice, AKA Victoria Beckham came in at #1. Also on the list was Mary-Kate Olsen who he said "resembles a tattered toothpick trapped in a hurricane." Wow how HARSH is that? Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, and Mariah Carey was also dissed.

OH THE HORROR!!
 Amy Winehouse, who's name was also mentioned on Mr. Blackwell's list, was photographed with a brand-new hair-do. No more beehive! (I'm sure more than just bees came out of that monster when she took it off).  Instead of her regular black, she's decided to lighten up her locks with a little blonde. It looks...um....
She'll be on the list next year.




In other fashion news: Michael Jordan will soon be releasing his new basketball shoe. It's the first ever "Green" shoe. TMZ is reporting that the shoe is the first ever to be made with sustainable materials. O.K? oh yea and it's gonna cost ya $230..How bad do ya want it?


In Britney Spears news:
Dr. Phil is being blasted by Spears parents for lack of character.  He basically barged into her room when she was being released from the hospital and he tried to make it seem as though she wanted him to be there.  Also TMZ is reporting that Brit's parents are trying desperately to get her into rehab, whether she wants to go or not...I really hope they do.

Even though she denied and denied, Nicole Kidman finally confirmed that she and husband Keith Urban are having a little one.  No due date has been announced.  But great for her..after what, 10+ years of trying.
Former Idol Jessica Sierra will not be having her kid in jail. She was released from a Florida jail on Tuesday but with some strict rules to follow. She will have to be in rehab for one year and after that, probation for 3 years.  This is the kicker..if she appears on t.v she will be thrown back on jail. Let's hope she does well and doesn't end up being intervied on one of those t.v entertainment shows.
Oh and Pamela Anderson might be pregnant...

In todays entertainment world, all we hear are names like Britney spears, Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Brangelina, the list can go on and on.  These are the names of stars whose's names seem to be everywhere. These celebrities have been the latest Hollywood buzz and the top breaking news of the day . They've had their names splashed all over the Tabloids, T.V, and Famous Internet Blogs.



These top celebrities are famous just for being famous. They are the source of entertainment for the public, as well as a lucrative investment for the paparazzi. A juicy photo of one of today's hottest Hollywood couples can earn a photographer thousands.  Likewise, a photo of the latest Hollywood actress doing something out of the ordinary could sky rocket a magazine's popularity as soon as it hits the shelves. Any news coming out of Hollywood these days is an opportunity for making money. 


HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

Celebrity news coverage seemed to hit a maximum in 2007. There were DUI's, pregnancies, famous weddings, numerous fashion and fragrance lines started by just about every top rated movie star out there.  Celebrities even made headlines in 2007 for their hairstyles and fashion. Britney Spears made the word weave popular by wearing a badly done example of one on her head.  British singer Amy Winehouse also became a household name because of her outrageous hairstyle and those ridiculous ballet slippers she seemed to wear EVERYWHERE.  Her photo's were plasterded all over the latest tabloids with headlines that eluded to her horrible fashion sense and just when was she going to go to rehab?

So is this the price to pay for being a celebrity? How can a famous movie star or celebrity hold on to some sense of privacy in their lives and still be famous?
Lets talk about stars like Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, Sean Penn, and Jennifer Connelly for instance, who we all know but are almost out of the puplic eye completely.  These stars try to live their lives as normal as they possibly can. They use thier resources to shield themselves and their families from the glare of the media and keep their names out of the latesr t.v entertainment headlines.


GILLIGAN'S ISLAND MAYBE?

Gilligan had his own island that was away from civilization, so why not today's celebs?


For many stars, a move out of the country is one way to get "some" privacy. Johnny Depp for example owns his own Private Island in the Bahamas called Little Halls Pond Cay. Some
other stars that have private islands of their own are: Mel Gibson, Nicholas Cage, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts and Steven Spielberg. He also resides with his wife Vanessa Paradis and their two children in France.  Depp is considered one of the biggest stars out there, yet he remains out of the spotlight. Just how does he do it? 


JUST BEING ME

To lead normal lives, a move out of the country isn't always necessary. Actress Jennifer Connelly is one example of just being the average person. Though she has been acting since she was a child (she was in the movie Labyrinth with David Bowie), Jennifer has continued to stay out of the tabloids.  She lives in New York with her husband, actor Paul Bettany and their two children. Besides being an actress, she has even dabbled in music (releasing a Japanese single "Monologue of Love" in the mid 1980's). She keeps herself busy and out of the headlines by doing the things that she loves, not the things that get her into magazines (click here to read more about her).  Contrary to her private lifestyle, she has just been named the new face of  the fashion line Balenciaga. 


So with stars like these that show that they can live somewhat normal lives without being in the media everyday and still be known and adored by fans, it makes me wonder do stars like Paris, Britney and Lindsey choose to make themselves victims of the latest Breaking Hollywood news. Next we have Gwen Stefani. I think she would have to be the hottest thing right now as far as clothing/fashion and fragrance are concerned.
She has her very own clothing line called L.A.M.B, which is doing quite well right now. Her perfume "L" from that line costs $70.00 at Macy's for a 3.4 oz bottle.





Britney Spears also has her very own line of fragrances. Curious, Fantasy, and her newest scent Believe.

         

They all run between $48.00 and $60.00 depending on the size of the bottles.

The holiday season is upon us and it is a time for all of us to reflect on the year that has past and the new year that is fast approaching.  For many in the public eye, 2007 has been the year filled with DUI's, drugs, rehab, and misconduct.  Many top rated celebrities have had the book thrown at them due to numerous mishaps with the law.

Are stars really showing a good example to others out there? Are they taking their celebrity status for granted? Or are they just like the rest of us? It seems as though they are paying a huge price for fame.  Celebrities are human like the rest of us, and like us they make their fair share of mistakes. But I am beginning to wonder what mistake will make them learn.  It seems as though the breaking news of the day almost always involves alcohol.

Many of the DUI's and rehab stints we're hearing about is coming out of young Hollywood. Celebrities between the ages of 20 and 25, give or take a few years, are being popped for DUI's left and right.

Paris Hilton is one of the celebutant's who's name made the news headlines in 2007.  With a side-swept hairstyle, Paris posed for her mugshot. After being arrested for numerous violations, she was finally sentenced to 45 days in jail for a parole violation in which she served less time for good behavior (she was released on June 26, 2007).  Now, other than being famous for her fashion, partying lifestyle, and being a good source of entertainment. She's now famous for her time spent in                              jail.

Lindsey Lohan was also arrested, charged with DUI, and completed rehab. Her sentence stemmed from a July 24th DUI arrest in which she was sentenced to one day in jail and three years probation. She was also made to attend rehab where she remained until October.  The Hollywood actress has since cleaned up her act and has started filming a few new movies again.

Another young female celebrity who has recently completed a stint in rehab and who's name is on the lips of just about everyone these days is Britney Spears.
I am not going to go into detail about her.  We all know the history there: Rehab, the photo of her running around town without underwear, child custody battles, etc..but thankfully no arrests.

I see a pattern forming...

Are these celebrities just crying out for help? is it attention that they crave? I can only hope that 2008 will be a safe and happy year for celebrities as well as everyone else.

Here are a few tips to avoid becoming a victim of the effects of alcohol and drugs, and how to NOT be like your favorite movie star:

•     Make sure you have a designated driver!
•     Limit the amount of alcohol you consume!
•     Have fun in moderation (you're not as much fun when you're drunk)
•     Drugs..JUST DON'T DO THEM!

And last but not least...

Though it seems like the thing to do, numerous visits to rehab does not make you cool!

HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON

If you haven't met Reva Shayne yet, make an appointment for 3:00 (2:00 Central) on CBS and prepare to be dazzled.  She left Oklahoma for Springfield in the early eighties and none of us have ever been the same.  Ok, I know.  Some of you have already zoned out and/or are about to click away because you consider yourself "above" soaps.  Get over yourself and check her out.  She's married Josh (a.k.a. Bud) her lifelong soul-mate three times.  In her attempts to catch Josh, she's also married his brother Billy, and his dad H.B..  She's even snagged the local kajillionnaire extraordinaire, Alan Spaulding.

But her husbands aren't even the half of it.  What makes her a true heroine is her ability to take care of business with poise and chutzpah.  She has handled her children, her home, her television show, cancer, amnesia, death, cloning (yes, amnesia, death and cloning) all with a candor and courage.  She knows when to keep her mouth shut and when to blab it, when to save a desparate son, and when to kill an ailing ex-husband.  This is a chick we all should know and have in our corner. 

Don't get me started on the current storyline with Josh and Cassie.  Along with everyone else watching Guiding Light, I'm more than disconcerted with that one.  Honestly, though, it only highlights Kim Zimmer's flexibility as an actress.  She has certainly earned the Emmy and star status.  Who else could have made it through the decades of writers on this show?  Having to talk to Annie as a ghost?  Or thinking her name was Rebecca and living with the Amish?  What about keeping Dolly, her clone, alive in the pool house all those weeks?

Miracle of miracles, however, breaking entertainment news has it that Jonathan is returning to Springfield in '08.  How CBS lured Tom Pelphrey back to the show, I'll never know.  But he has all the makings of a star, and Guiding Light (along with his mum, Reva) is better for it.  Along with Jonathan's return, here are my wishes for Reva in '08:

• That Josh will snap out of this funk and leave Cassie
• That Mara and Shayne will return to shower their mother with the adoration she deserves
• That she does NOT go on a ridiculous fad diet and lose her curves 
  
• That she and Olivia can find peace  (They would make and unstoppable pair.)
• That she will keep her keen fashion sense  (I'm getting amazing ideas from her wardrobe!)
